Insolvency Resolution
The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 (IBC) is the bankruptcy law of India which seeks to consolidate the existing framework by creating a single law for insolvency and bankruptcy. Under this new Code, the corporate debtor undergoes a Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP) where the creditors of the corporate debtor attempt to resolve the insolvency of the corporate in a time-bound manner. Insolvency Resolution Professional under the Code means an insolvency professional appointed to conduct the CIRP or liquidate the company.
